FC Cincinnati dropped a 5-0 result Wednesday night at Philadelphia Union.
The Orange and Blue (8-8-7, 31 points) went down a man early, with Obinna Nwobodo being sent off in the 16th minute after VAR determined his foul committed rose to the level of a red card.
The Union (8-10-6, 30 points) were held scoreless until they were awarded a penalty kick late in the first half, which Quinn Sullivan converted in the 43rd minute. Bruno Damiani then doubled Philadelphia’s lead one minute into first-half stoppage time.
Damiani would go on to complete a hat trick with two additional goals early in the second half. The Union would add a fifth goal from the penalty spot via Milan Iloski in the 89th minute.
FC Cincinnati return home this Saturday, September 12 to host Charlotte FC for Noche Latina at TQL Stadium.
