FC Cincinnati defeated D.C. United, 2-1, Wednesday night at TQL Stadium in a rescheduled match from the originally-scheduled postponed fixture from September 5.

Cincinnati improve to 10-11-9 (39 points) and are now even on games played with the rest of the league through the end of the season as D.C. United fell to 7-11-12 (33 points). Just four matches remain in 2026 as FC Cincinnati sit above the playoff line in eighth place.

FCC opened the scoring when David Douděra cleaned up a deflected ball in the 14th minute, notching his first goal for the Orange and Blue and in his MLS career. Douděra finished from a tight angle on the right side for his maiden goal.

On the defensive side, Nick Hagglund – making his 180th appearance for FC Cincinnati to become the club’s all-time leader in games played – kept the match level in the 24th minute with a diving header save from the goal line. But D.C. United equalized before halftime when Kimito Nono scored for the visitors in the 38th minute.

FC Cincinnati captured the lead 10 minutes into the second half when a foul created a set piece opportunity off a free kick from distance for Evander. The Brazilian sent the ball into the box and Teenage Hadebe sent home the ball for the game-winning goal in the 55th minute.

AS IT HAPPENED
CIN: David Douděra, GOAL – 14’ (1-0) – Tyrell Malacia and Tom Barlow triangulated passes into the far side of the 18-yard box before Barlow ripped a shot at goal. The shot deflected off a D.C. defender and skidded out to David Douděra who calmly swiped with his right boot to curve the ball inside the near post.

DC: Kimito Nono, GOAL – 38’ (1-1) – JoĂ£o Peglow sent a high-arching pass from midfield in towards the box as Kimito Nono made a run toward the ball, controlling it and scoring.

CIN: Teenage Hadebe, GOAL – 55’ (2-1) – A yellow card foul committed by D.C. set up an Evander free kick 40 yards out from goal. Evander sent a ball into a crowded goal box behind the backline. The ball barely had an opportunity to bounce when Teenage Hadebe slid with his right foot extended to bury the ball into the goal.
