CINCINNATI, OH --- Forward Oluwatomiwo “Tomi” Ameobi (oh-loo-wah-TOE-me-whoa “TOE-mi” ah-me-OH-be) is the second player to join FC Cincinnati this week as the Newcastle, England native has signed a contract with the Orange and Blue and will begin training with the team, pending USL and federation approval.

“Tomi is a big, strong and quick striker who has a fantastic work-rate,” Head Coach Alan Koch said. “He is a man of talent and exceptional character who is a welcome addition to our squad. We look forward to getting him up to match fitness as quickly as possible so that he can have a major influence on the team.”

Ameobi comes to Cincinnati from FC Edmonton, where he played from 2014-17 and scored 21 goals and seven assists in 95 appearances, including 79 starts. The 29-year old has had extensive experience in Europe, signing his first professional contract at the age of 18 and making his professional debut with Leeds United FC.
